Finding the Joy and Cozy Comfort in December

December is a magical time, brimming with things to do. It's a season focused on giving, connecting, and sharing moments with loved ones. From thoughtful gifts to festive family dinners, there's so much joy in extending your energy outward. It's truly a wonderful tradition. Yes, with all the hustle and bustle, it's easy to overlook the quieter, cozier side of December - the lights, the warmth, and the moments of calm that make this time of year so special.
For many of us (myself included), the holidays can feel like a whirlwind. Between sending Christmas presents, attending family gatherings, and participating in holiday parties (or julebord, as we say in Norway), the season sometimes feels more like a marathon than a celebration. Add to that the shorter, darker days, and it can seem like there's hardly any time to slow down, reflect, or nurture ourselves.
If you're feeling stretched thin or overwhelmed, how can you find moments of peace and contentment? How can you reclaim some of the joy and coziness that December offers?
Small Acts of Self-Care
One way is to carve out small pockets of time just for you. You don't need to dedicate a whole day - sometimes even 15 minutes or an hours can make a world difference. Use this time to focus on what truly nourishes you. Whether it's enjoying a quiet cup of tea, reading by the fire, or simply pausing to breath, these moments of self-care can help bring balance to your busy days.
When you start to prioritizing yourself, even in small ways, you may notice a shift. Life begins to feel more manageable, more fulfilling. You might find that you still, accomplish everything you need to, but with less stress and more ease. Taking time to reset can enhance your ability to enjoy the season rather than simply rushing through it.
Join My Full Moon Ceremony
If you're looking for a way to carve out some intentional "me time", this December, I'd love for you to join my one-hour Full Moon Ceremony. Under the light of the last full moon of the year, we'll gather on December 15th from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM for a nourishing and restorative experience.
We'll begin with gentle yoga to connect with our bodies, followed by a warm cup of ceremonial cacao to open our hears and set meaningful intentions for the year ahead. Our time together will conclude with a deep relaxing meditation, leaving you refreshed, rejuvenated, and ready to embrace the holiday season with more ease and joy.
